⚠️ Before You Start — Get a Google App Password

Gmail requires an App Password (not your real password) for third-party apps. It takes 2 minutes and keeps your account secure. You must complete this before connecting eMailWipe.

Go to myaccount.google.com/security

Click 2-Step Verification (must be enabled first — takes 1 minute if not already on)

Scroll down and click App passwords

Under Select app choose Mail → Under Select device choose Windows/Mac Computer

Click Generate → Google shows a 16-character password → Copy it

Paste that password into eMailWipe when it asks for your App Password

🚀 Setup Guide — 4 Steps

Install eMailWipe

Windows: Double-click eMailWipe_Setup_1.0.0.exe and follow the installer. Takes under 2 minutes.
Mac: Open eMailWipe_1.0.0.dmg, drag eMailWipe to your Applications folder, then open it from Applications.

Read the Privacy Notice and Activate

On first launch, eMailWipe shows our privacy notice explaining exactly what data stays on your computer. Then enter your email address and license key from above (or from your email) to activate.

Connect Gmail

Enter your Gmail address and the App Password you just created (from the step above). eMailWipe connects directly to Gmail — we never see your password.

Set Rules and Clean

eMailWipe scans your inbox and shows you exactly how many emails will be deleted vs protected. Review the protect rules, adjust if needed, read the final warning, and press Clean. Your inbox will be cleaned automatically. A PDF report is saved to your Desktop when done.

🍎 Mac Users — First Launch Note

If macOS shows "eMailWipe cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer" — this is normal for software distributed outside the Mac App Store.

To open it: Right-click (or Control+click) on eMailWipe → click Open → click Open again. You only need to do this once. After that it opens normally.
